Who We Are

The Texas Coalition of Forensic Nurses is the collective voice of forensic nursing in Texas. We are a statewide community built on connection, purpose, and the belief that nurses are most powerful when they stand together.

We support forensic nurses at every stage of their journey through education and meaningful leadership opportunities. Alongside partners in healthcare, academia, and advocacy, we work to strengthen Texas' response to interpersonal violence and ensure that every survivor receives trauma informed, evidence based care.

At TCFN, we're not just building a profession. We're building each other and access to care for all Texans.

How We Got Here

The Texas Coalition of Forensic Nurses was founded by the former board of the IAFN Texas chapter. When IAFN suddenly discontinued its chapters, we weren't willing to walk away from the community or the nurses who depended on it. We came together as a working board and built TCFN from the ground up, determined to make sure Texas forensic nurses kept a professional home and kept moving forward together.

That commitment is the foundation everything else is built on. TCFN is an independent, Texas- based organization shaped by people who understand this work from the inside. It is provider- led, community driven, and built to last.

Equity and Justice We are committed to ensuring that every Texan has access to trauma-informed, evidence-based forensic nursing care regardless of who they are or where they live.
